[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The "Foreign-Invested Companies Job Fair," hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), will open on the 14th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. The fair will be held until the 15th.

The Foreign-Invested Companies Job Fair has been held annually since 2006, marking its 17th edition this year. This year, a record number of 175 foreign-invested companies, including Applied Materials, 3M, Boeing, and Citibank, are participating. By parent company region, there are ▲76 companies from Europe ▲55 from Asia ▲43 from North America, totaling 24 countries. Among them, 17 are Fortune 500 companies, and 58 are Forbes Global 2000 companies. Participating companies will announce job openings for about 1,700 positions and seek talented candidates at the fair.

The fair will feature programs such as company consultation booths, JOB concerts (employment lectures & recruitment briefings), one-on-one consulting (resume, interview, MBTI career consulting), and on-site events. Job seekers can meet HR representatives of companies they are interested in at the consultation booths and receive in-depth one-on-one counseling about the companies or employment-related questions. Interested companies can also apply by submitting resumes through the website. Through one-on-one consulting, expert advice related to job preparation can be received.

KOTRA will also demonstrate the Finvest Day project at the fair, utilizing the metaverse platform Gather Town to conduct investment incentive briefings, practical investment seminars, and consultations. Promotional materials supporting the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo will also be distributed to visiting job seekers.

KOTRA President Yoo Jung-yeol said, “As of last year, about 15,000 foreign-invested companies operating in Korea account for approximately 5.6% of total employment,” adding, “I hope job seekers gain opportunities to get employed at foreign-invested companies through the fair.”
