[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Science High School in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, participated in the '68th National Science Exhibition' and received special awards.
Busan Science High School sent 9 teams to the National Science Exhibition held on June 10, with 4 teams receiving special awards, 2 teams winning excellence awards, and 3 teams receiving encouragement awards.
This competition selected 19 teams from Busan to advance to the national competition through preliminary judging in Busan. After four months of team-based topic research and presentation judging over two days on the 25th and 26th, the winners were announced on the National Science Museum website.
The 4 teams awarded special prizes achieved excellent results with practical topics such as 'Customized Smart Window Film for Cultivated Crops,' 'Production of Sunscreen Using Street Banks,' 'Study on the Production of Bacteria Detection Film Using Metal Ion Alginate Gel,' and 'Design of an Intelligent Air Conditioner Wind Direction Controller.'
Jung Chan-gyu, principal of Busan Science High School, said, "This award is the result of faithfully operating a student-led research-centered curriculum, including creative project research." He added, "We will continue to do our best to enhance students' creative problem-solving skills."
The competition is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National Science Museum. It is held annually to encourage in-depth research activities in science and technology, fostering scientific inquiry and the advancement of science and technology.
