Regular Executive Personnel Announcement on the 10th, All Representatives Retained
30 Promotions Including 4 Vice Presidents... Effective January 1 Next Year
"Focus on Stable Organizational Management Amid Significant Internal and External Uncertainties"
Department Store Representatives Prioritize Handling Daejeon Outlet Accident
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The heads of Hyundai Department Store Group’s affiliates have all been retained. This decision emphasizes stable organizational management rather than major changes amid growing uncertainties in the domestic and international business environment, including concerns over a global economic downturn. The head of the department store, whose position was under scrutiny following the recent fire accident at Hyundai Premium Outlet Daejeon, has also been retained, reflecting a commitment to prioritize accident recovery.
On the 10th, Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it has carried out regular executive appointments effective January 1 next year, including 30 promotions and 22 transfers, totaling 52 personnel, among them 4 vice presidents and 6 senior managing directors.
A Hyundai Department Store Group official said, "In an increasingly uncertain domestic and international business environment, we focused on stable organizational management rather than major changes in this 2023 regular executive appointment. We will pursue growth and change within the stable framework where all affiliate CEOs remain in their positions." The plan is to ensure stable organizational management at the year-end, when next year’s business plans and management strategies are being actively developed, to achieve connected business performance in the coming year.
He added, "There are no new promotions to president in this regular executive appointment, but the scale of personnel changes is similar to previous years. A notable feature is the large-scale appointment of young talents with both expertise and drive, positioning next-generation leaders in key roles across affiliates." Hyundai Department Store Group explained, "This also signifies securing new leadership to invigorate the organization and maximize core competitiveness, preparing for the group’s future innovation and sustainable growth."
