Gwangyang Economic Authority Hosts "Matching Investment Mart for SMEs and Venture Capital"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak, hereinafter GFEZ Authority) held the "GFEZ Venture Capital Matching Investment Mart" on the 8th at the Yeosu Hidden Bay Hotel, providing investment attraction opportunities to promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Jeonnam region.

This event was organized as an investment attraction platform by receiving applications from SMEs in the Jeonnam region with high technological capabilities that wish to invest in GFEZ in the future, and matching them with investment institutions that are members of the Korea Investment Institutions Association for Materials, Parts, and Equipment (KITIA).

Seven companies related to materials and parts, including secondary batteries, EV platforms, solar heat collectors, and ceramic materials, participated along with seven leading domestic venture capital firms.

The event selected three SMEs among the participating companies to hold an investment briefing session including IR presentations and Q&A to increase interest. It also conducted one-on-one customized investment consultations between participating companies and investment institutions to assess each company's investment potential and areas for improvement, as well as providing education on investment attraction strategies for SMEs.

Song Sang-rak, Commissioner of the GFEZ Authority, said, "This event was the first attempt to provide local SMEs with networking opportunities with investors to promote investment activation in promising future SMEs. We hope it will contribute to the development of the Gwangyang Bay area and the creation of quality jobs."
