Eliminating Risks in Advance Through Comprehensive Safety Inspections at Festival Sites
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) held a safety management measures briefing session at the festival site on the 8th to ensure the safe and successful hosting of the ‘Goheung Yuja Pomegranate Festival,’ which will be held for four days from the 10th to the 13th.
At the briefing session, attended by all department heads and town and township chiefs, a thorough inspection of the entire festival site was conducted, and safety management measures and pre-inspections were carried out to ensure that there would be no accidents or risk factors.
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, the county held a festival safety management plan review meeting attended by officials from related agencies such as police, fire department, electricity, and gas to discuss safety measures in each field in depth, and decided to strengthen safety measures in areas found to be insufficient.
The on-site briefing session was organized to check the implementation of supplementary safety management requirements and to frequently inspect the festival site to prepare practical safety measures, aiming to create a safer festival.
In addition, risk factors within the festival site were eliminated, and areas and times expected to have dense crowds were analyzed to confirm ▲ securing visitor flow ▲ spatial arrangement of booths ▲ focused deployment of safety personnel in densely crowded areas during performances, and a pre-inspection of the entire festival site was conducted to prepare for joint safety inspections.
Governor Gong Young-min said, “Learning from recent unfortunate accidents, please strengthen safety management to ensure the festival prioritizes safety above all,” and urged “preparations without the slightest mistake.”
Meanwhile, the 2022 Goheung Yuja Pomegranate Festival will be held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, under the theme ‘Goheung Yuja and Pomegranate Healing~ Healing.’ It will feature various experiences and sales using Goheung’s representative agricultural specialties, yuja and pomegranate, including yuja picking and walking along the yuja orchard trail, offering attractions and programs that heal both body and mind.
