Ceremony, Exhibition, and Various Programs Presenting Philosophy and Vision of the Local Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, the Autonomy Decentralization Committee, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that they will hold the '2022 Korea Local Era Expo in Busan' at BEXCO in Busan for three days from the 10th to the 12th, together with 17 metropolitan cities and provinces.
The '2022 Korea Local Era Expo' consists of a commemorative ceremony announcing the launch of a local era where anywhere in Korea is a good place to live, an exhibition emotionally presenting life-oriented content from each local government, a policy conference where professors and researchers related to local decentralization and balanced development gather to discuss future visions and strategies according to the philosophy of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's regional balanced development policy, and various public participation events where residents can actively participate, serving as a place for exchange among regional innovation and balanced development stakeholders.
At the commemorative ceremony held on the second day, the 11th, about 300 key officials including the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the National Balanced Development Committee, the Mayor of Busan, and representatives from the four major local councils and metropolitan cities and provinces will gather to strengthen the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's commitment to regional development through awards for meritorious persons and performances signaling the official start of the local era.
During the Korea Local Era Expo, an exhibition showcasing the achievements of balanced development and local decentralization policies to date and future plans will be available for viewing in three themes: metropolitan city/province vision, balanced development, and local decentralization.
At the policy conference held over two days from the 10th to the 11th at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 and conference rooms, the National Balanced Development Committee, related organizations, national and metropolitan city/province research institutes will establish innovative policies and prepare effective implementation plans through various proposals aligned with the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's local era policy vision and strategy.
Meanwhile, this expo will also feature public participation events involving various organizations and activists working for regional innovation and national balanced development from across the country, as well as investment attraction briefings to revitalize the local economy. From the 10th to the 11th, the 'Hope Connection Pleasant Employment Camp' will be held to raise interest in local companies and jobs through the Hope Connection Support Group and job exploration for young people who have moved away. Additionally, regional company events will be held to activate corporate investment attraction in industry-academic-research clusters by sharing best support cases by innovation city and providing investment information.
