[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Jeonggwan-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun held a pungmul class with local residents at the Jeonggwan-eup Welfare Center on the 7th as a talent donation program.
The pungmul class is held free of charge on the first Tuesday of every month for residents of Sambu Village to awaken the importance of traditional culture, enjoy the excitement and elegance, and learn traditional rhythms.
At this pungmul class, Sambu Village residents had a joyful time performing dance moves to the rhythms of traditional instruments such as kkwaenggwari, jing, janggu, and buk.
A resident who participated in the pungmul class said, "It was a beneficial time where I could relieve stress with our exciting traditional rhythms."
Jeonggwan-eup Mayor Kim Jong-cheon said, "We will make further efforts to ensure that the Jeonggwan-eup Welfare Center becomes a place for cultural welfare for Sambu Village residents," and added, "We ask for continued use in the future."
The Jeonggwan-eup Welfare Center was selected as a resident wish project in the development restriction zone last year and was established in June this year.
The center opened a bathhouse within the welfare center on September 5th, and since last November, it has been operating talent donation programs such as pungmul classes, Kung & Ddak Janggu classes, barber services, and laughter exercise classes.
