Changnyeong Agricultural Products Recognized as 'Top Quality' Nationwide

Jinjeongpo and Jeong Seonghun Receive Awards at the 31st National Best Agricultural Products Festival

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The excellence of agricultural products produced in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, is being recognized nationwide.

Changnyeong-gun announced on the 9th that it won the Rural Development Administration Commissioner Award and the Korea Food Research Institute Director Award at the '31st National Top Agricultural Products Festival' held at Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Suwon Branch from the 4th to the 6th.

The National Top Agricultural Products Festival was hosted by the Korea Young Farmers Central Association and supported by eight organizations including the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Agricultural producers from 17 cities and provinces nationwide participated, exhibiting excellent agricultural products in six categories (grains, fruits, vegetables, special crops, flowers, special/processed products) and promoting the excellence of agricultural products.

Changnyeong exhibited and displayed 10 items including onions, garlic, cucumbers, paprika, and sweet persimmons. Mr. Jeong Seong-hoon was honored with the Rural Development Administration Commissioner Award (vegetable category, paprika), and Mr. Jin Jong-po received the Korea Food Research Institute Director Award (vegetable category, cucumber).

A county official said, “We were able to confirm that the agricultural products produced in the county are recognized as top agricultural products nationwide. We thank the farmers of Changnyeong who do their best despite difficult times such as rising raw material prices.”
