Yeongyang-gun Conducts Gas Saving and Safety Promotion Campaign

Yeongyang-gun will conduct a gas-saving and safety promotion campaign targeting elderly participants in senior job programs.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, will conduct a gas saving and safety campaign targeting elderly job participants in Yeongyang-eup for three days from the 8th to the 10th.

This campaign was promoted to save gas costs amid rising energy prices due to global economic inflation and to strengthen safety management of gas usage facilities. Participants included the Yeongyang-gun Economic Job Division, LPG Pipeline Project Group (specialist), and representatives of LPG pipeline suppliers at the county level.

During the campaign, promotional materials containing gas cost-saving methods and inspection guidelines for gas usage facilities were distributed to elderly job participants in Yeongyang-eup, emphasizing safety rules and encouraging interest and participation.

The county invested a total project cost of 22.8 billion KRW to complete the county-level LPG pipeline project in Yeongyang-gun in July 2020 to improve energy welfare for residents, currently supplying LPG to about 2,300 households in the Yeongyang-eup area.

Through the LPG small storage tank project, LPG is supplied to about 480 households in 8 villages, and plans are in place to supply LPG to Dogye 1-ri, Ilwol-myeon (82 households) in the first half of next year and to complete LPG supply to Sinsa 2-ri, Ipam-myeon (62 households) by the end of the year.

Oh Do-chang, Mayor of Yeongyang-gun, said, "I hope this gas saving and safety campaign will help ease household expenditure burdens caused by rising prices and also expect safety accident prevention effects," adding, "I appreciate the active cooperation of related organizations and will continue promotional activities in the future."
