'K-Global@Silicon Valley 2022' Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 8th that it will hold 'K-Global@Silicon Valley 2022' for two days on the 7th and 8th of this month (U.S. local time) in Silicon Valley to support the entry of domestic digital companies into the U.S. market.
Now in its 11th year, this event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. It will be held face-to-face for the first time in three years, with 40 domestic digital companies and 151 U.S.-based companies including global firms and investors such as Google and Apple participating.
This year’s event is designed to realize President Yoon Suk-yeol’s September New York initiative and the government’s 'Korea Digital Strategy' through programs such as the ICT Innovation Forum, pitching competitions for domestic and international digital companies, and export consultation meetings. The Ministry of Science and ICT will provide support for corporate establishment and collaborative spaces to pitching competition winners through the local Silicon Valley base, ‘KIC Silicon Valley.’
At the export consultation meetings, 30 domestic companies specializing in metaverse and artificial intelligence (AI) will showcase their products and services to 151 U.S.-based companies including global firms and investors such as Meta, Google, Apple, NVIDIA, and Amazon. Over 300 one-on-one consultation sessions will also be conducted.
Hong Seong-wan, Director of the Information and Communications Industry Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “We will actively provide the necessary support through public-private cooperation so that our digital companies can pioneer the global digital market based on innovative technologies such as AI and semiconductors.”
