[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Kensington Hotel Seorak, operated by Kensington Hotel & Resort, announced on the 8th that it won the 'Luxury Heritage Hotel' category in Asia at the 'World Luxury Hotel Awards 2022'.

The hotel stated, "Kensington Hotel Seorak possesses a variety of collections that are rarely found domestically or internationally," adding, "Through this award, it has firmly established itself as a world-class luxury heritage hotel."

Now in its 16th year, the World Luxury Hotel Awards is an award given to hotels that demonstrate excellence in world-class facilities and services. It is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies globally, with over 300,000 international travelers participating in an online vote over four weeks each year to select the winners.

Kensington Hotel Seorak continuously communicates with guests through collections related to British culture and memorabilia from famous domestic and international stars. It is the world's first star-themed hotel and is known as a landmark visited by many celebrities. From the entrance, a double-decker bus Routemaster that once roamed the streets of London in the 1950s is on display, and in the lobby, guests are welcomed by the coronation crown of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom and a nearly 2-meter-tall British royal guard doll.

The hotel operates various facilities including the restaurant 'The Queen,' where guests can enjoy steak and wine alongside exhibits showcasing British royal history; 'Abbey Road Sky Lounge,' themed after the Beatles Museum; and the 'Rooftop Terrace,' which offers panoramic views of the grandeur of Seoraksan Mountain.

Abbey Road Sky Lounge exhibits over 40 Beatles memorabilia items that are rarely seen domestically or internationally, including guitars signed by all Beatles members, an original suit worn by John Lennon, handwritten sheet music by Paul McCartney, and the Beatles' first Golden Disc. On the rooftop terrace outside Abbey Road, guests can enjoy tea time while admiring the magnificent view of Seoraksan National Park, located just a five-minute walk from the hotel. The restaurant 'The Queen' features exhibits that provide a glimpse into British royal history, including royal greeting cards sent by the British royal family, a handwritten letter from King George VI, and photos and autographs of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

Additionally, on each floor of the hotel, guests can find collections that reflect the footprints of famous domestic and international figures. The 5th floor is the 'Sports Star Floor,' where memorabilia from sports stars in baseball, soccer, basketball, and other disciplines are displayed. On the 6th floor, collections from ambassadors of over 40 countries stationed in Korea are exhibited. The 7th floor, known as the Singer Floor, and the 8th floor, the Movie Star Floor, showcase works, commemorative photos, and donated items signed by famous singers and actors, respectively.

Meanwhile, to celebrate this award, the hotel is offering a 'Luxury Heritage Package' until the 24th of next month. The package includes a one-night stay in a suite room, breakfast buffet for two at The Queen, The Queen's royal dinner (Sunday to Thursday) or wine party (Friday to Saturday) for two, two Americanos, a Beefeater house tour, and two admission tickets to Seoraksan.

The suite rooms come in six types, including Presidential Suite, Laura Ashley Suite, Diana and Elizabeth Suites, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences.
