Sports and Cultural Events, Including the Rainbow Coastal Road Tourist Area
Lee Sang-hoon, Deputy Mayor of Sacheon, Gyeongnam, is conducting a special on-site inspection of areas with concerns of crowd congestion.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, will conduct a special on-site safety inspection of November events and areas with concerns of crowd congestion until the 14th to prevent large-scale casualties.
According to the city, Vice Mayor Lee Sang-hoon, related officials, private experts, Sacheon Police Station, and Sacheon Fire Station will jointly carry out safety inspections targeting November events and areas with concerns of crowd congestion.
The inspection targets include sports and cultural events such as walking competitions, the Rainbow Coastal Road tourist area, Sacheon Sea Cable Car, and four amusement facilities.
The inspection items include checking the management plan for emergency evacuation routes at facilities, tourist sites, and event venues; safety personnel deployment plans; methods for maintaining emergency contact networks; measures to disperse crowds exceeding capacity limits; establishment of response guidelines for different types of safety accidents; and visual inspections of facilities.
The city plans to promote safety inspections from the 10th to December 9th by each responsible department regarding vulnerable facilities, tourist sites, nursing hospitals, traditional markets, lodging facilities, and fire prevention.
A city official stated, “Through this safety inspection, we will carefully examine whether there are any blind spots in safety and do our best to prevent large-scale casualties like the Itaewon incident through prior prevention.”
