[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 8th that it will operate an emergency COVID-19 response quarantine plan for two weeks to ensure the smooth administration of the ‘2023 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) (November 17),’ which is just over a week away.
According to the Ministry of Education’s ‘2023 College Scholastic Ability Test Smooth Implementation Measures,’ the county plans to promptly test examinees showing COVID-19 symptoms and immediately notify the Office of Education if they test positive, allowing them to take the exam at hospital test sites or separate test centers. The county has entered the examinee management system and CSAT voluntary quarantine practice period.
To systematically manage examinees subject to quarantine, a quarantine response team will also operate within the public health center starting two weeks before the CSAT.
From the 11th, the public health center will immediately notify the Office of Education upon confirming an examinee’s positive COVID-19 status or the occurrence of a non-positive self-quarantined individual, and when issuing quarantine notices in writing, will also provide the ‘2023 CSAT Examinee Compliance Guidelines.’
Examinees who test positive and require hospitalization will be assigned beds at designated hospitals and admitted, supporting them to take the CSAT at hospital test sites.
One day before the CSAT, if an examinee is subject to PCR testing at the public health center’s screening clinic, their specimen will be prioritized for collection and transported to the Health and Environment Research Institute to receive same-day test results. An emergency work system will be maintained until the following day to prepare for the occurrence of quarantine subjects.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We strongly encourage CSAT examinees to get tested if COVID-19 symptoms appear or if a cohabiting family member tests positive,” and added, “We ask for strict adherence to personal quarantine rules and restraint from private gatherings.”
