Global VFX studio with international award-winning experience, The Mill, announced on the 7th that it will open a studio in Seoul.
The Mill Seoul studio is located in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, and plans to collaborate organically with domestic companies, agencies, and production companies. Using the Seoul studio as a base, it aims to consolidate its world-class visual effects technology, creative production, and brand experience expertise accumulated in the Asia-Pacific region to expand its influence among global clients and creators.
Recently, The Mill participated in Samsung's "The Spider & The Window" campaign, winning the Gold Award at the world's top advertising festival, Cannes Lions 2022. It also took part in Hyundai Motor Company's "CES 2022" project and the production of the launch advertisement for Krafton's "PUBG: Battleground" game. With the establishment of the Seoul studio, The Mill expects to contribute its expertise more closely and systematically both domestically and internationally.
The Mill Seoul studio will be operated by Vice President Tony Choi. Vice President Tony Choi has over 30 years of production experience across Australia, the United States, and Korea, with a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western cultures. Through his experience, Tony Choi plans to integrate The Mill's world-class VFX technology and creative production know-how into the Korean market.
The creative division of The Mill Seoul studio will be led by Executive Creative Director Seongjun Park, former head of the metaverse creative team at Cheil Worldwide. Executive Creative Director Seongjun Park has successfully led campaigns for globally renowned brands such as Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z Fold & Galaxy Z Flip series, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors, and Chevrolet (GM). He also gained attention for managing Samsung's recently unveiled virtual character project, G·NUSMAS.
The development of The Mill Seoul studio is overseen by Alex Schneider, The Mill's Global Chief Strategy Officer. Alex Schneider has nearly 20 years of experience at world-class creative agencies, brands, and content studios. He has served as Managing Director of the global digital creative company R/GA Portland and held executive positions at creative studios Deutsch LA and 72andSunny.
