[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun announced on the 8th that it held an on-site briefing session on the 7th to check preparations with visitor safety as the top priority ahead of the 4th Haenam Minam Festival, which will be held for three days from the 11th to the 13th.

At the on-site briefing session attended by County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan and heads of departments, a field-centered inspection was conducted by visiting various parts of the festival site to ensure there were no lapses in safety management, and detailed instructions were given on points to be supplemented.

They reviewed the response methods of safety personnel in case of crowd accidents and conducted a detailed inspection of the safety status of risk areas at the site, outdoor stages, booths, sculptures, gas, electricity, and other facilities.

In particular, the county plans to conduct daily safety management checks until the festival, and from November 9th to 11th, for three days, it will carry out safety inspections of festival site facilities such as traffic, firefighting, electricity, gas, and infrastructure together with Jeollanam-do and related organizations. Additionally, on the 9th, a rehearsal and on-site training for the operation of the Minam Food Hall and Snack Hall will be conducted, followed by a stage operation check including the opening ceremony rehearsal on the 10th.

Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan emphasized, “This festival is the first full face-to-face event in three years, and with recent large-scale casualties occurring in Itaewon, attention to safety management is focused. Therefore, we must mobilize all our capabilities to ensure a safe festival,” adding, “We are focusing on preparing preemptive response plans for various emergency situations that may occur at the festival site, based on on-site and manual-centered approaches.”

He further instructed, “To prepare in advance for accidents where crowds may suddenly gather in densely populated areas during the festival period, additional safety personnel will be deployed on a regular basis.”
