Guro-gu will certify excellent companies that have contributed to job creation and provide various benefits.
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it is publicly recruiting companies to participate in the '2022 Job Creation Excellent Company Certification' until the 25th of this month.
The job creation excellent company certification is a project aimed at fostering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the district and creating local jobs. Recently, 39 excellent companies have been selected and certified over the past three years.
The selection criteria comprehensively consider employment increase performance (80 points), employment environment (20 points), the hiring rate of Guro-gu residents, and working conditions. Up to 20 excellent companies will be finally selected in December.
Selected companies will receive various administrative and financial benefits for two years from the certification date, including exemption from local tax audits, support for SME development fund loans, priority purchasing of goods, and preferential treatment when participating in company support projects conducted by Guro-gu such as overseas market development teams and G-Valley export consultation meetings.
Newly introduced benefits include priority selection of excellent companies for the 'SME Welfare Plus Support Project,' which provides welfare points of over 600,000 KRW per person, and the 'Workation Support Project' to be implemented from next year.
Eligibility for application requires companies to have had their main office in Guro-gu for at least one year as of the announcement date, with an employment growth rate of 10% or more in the past two years or an increase of 5 or more employees (for companies with 30 to less than 300 employees) or 2 or more employees (for companies with 5 to less than 30 employees). Employees with less than one year of employment contracts or part-time workers are excluded.
Companies wishing to participate can download the application form from the Guro-gu Office website and submit it along with documents in person, by mail, or email to the Job Support Division.
A Guro-gu official said, "Jobs created by companies are the driving force for revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We will focus on supporting companies that create jobs well and create an environment where the region and local companies can grow together."
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) operates the 'Visiting Small Business One-Stop Support Center,' providing customized counseling services by visiting traditional markets and alley commercial districts in the area.
The 'Small Business One-Stop Support Center,' a major project of the 8th local government term, integrates four institutions responsible for supporting small businesses (Gwangjin-gu, Gwangjin Chamber of Commerce, Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, Small Enterprise and Market Service) to provide tailored services for local merchants at once.
In line with the communication-focused policy direction of the 8th local government term, from October, a direct visiting approach was introduced. This 'communication window' is set up for merchants who cannot receive support benefits due to lack of information or are too busy running their stores to visit for counseling.
Teams consisting of officials from each institution, including the district office, visited Junggok Jeil Market, Jayang General Market, and nearby alley commercial districts on October 12th and 20th, meeting about 100 small business owners.
"The loan burden is overwhelming. How can I secure funds?"
"What should we do if heavy rain pours? Can you help?"
"How can I get support if facing business closure?"
Listening to the difficulties of small business owners and traditional market merchants, complaints that could be resolved immediately were handled on the spot, earning satisfaction from merchants. Issues that were difficult to resolve immediately were recorded in the 'Small Business One-Stop Support Center Complaint Management Ledger' and linked to the respective institution officials for processing.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, "We sought a visiting approach to facilitate convenience for busy local merchants and strengthen on-site communication," adding, "We will continue to implement field-centered support measures to help stabilize the management of small businesses, the foundation of the local economy."
Additionally, on the 27th, the '2022 Gwangjin-gu Regional Council Working-Level Meeting' was held to discuss ▲ 2022 Gwangjin-gu Small Business Commercial Area Analysis ▲ Activation plans for online shopping malls (public markets) to increase small business sales in Gwangjin-gu ▲ Seoul City’s free flood and wind damage insurance support for small businesses, and the district plans to continue dedicating efforts to revitalize the local economy.
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced the designation of 19 'Geumcheon-type Excellent Safe Restaurants' to foster a healthy dining culture.
To be designated as a Geumcheon-type Excellent Safe Restaurant, establishments must comply with six major practice tasks: ▲ serving food individually, ▲ disinfecting and ventilating the restaurant, ▲ hygienic management of utensils, ▲ providing trash bins in dining areas, ▲ appointing a quarantine manager, and ▲ hygiene management of seats, rooms, kitchens, and staff.
Designated restaurants will receive a certification plaque attached at the entrance and support for hygiene and quarantine supplies such as hand sanitizers. The district will actively promote these restaurants online and through social media so residents can recognize them.
Restaurants wishing to be designated can download the application form from the 'Geumcheon News' bulletin board on the Geumcheon-gu website, fill it out, and submit it in person or by email to the Geumcheon-gu Public Health Center Hygiene Division.
Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, "We are designating Geumcheon-type Excellent Safe Restaurants to increase the number of restaurants where residents can dine safely and to create a hygienic dining environment," adding, "We will conduct thorough follow-up management, including continuous monitoring and on-site inspections, as these are certified establishments by Geumcheon-gu."

This event is linked to the 2022 Korea Sale Festa (November 1?15), a large-scale discount period involving domestic distribution, manufacturing, and service industries simultaneously. It was organized by the Seocho-gu Chamber of Commerce to promote excellent products of SMEs and small business owners struggling due to the recent economic downturn and support their sales channels.
The 'SME Happiness Sharing Sales Exhibition,' held annually since 2006 but suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19, will be held again after three years. At the exhibition, 18 local SMEs will sell excellent products at affordable prices. Representative products include ▲ innovative items like shoelace fasteners that make tightening and loosening shoelaces easy ▲ lifestyle goods such as bags made by upcycling jeans ▲ handmade jewelry and accessories.
