[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] North Korea has expressed strong condemnation not only against the joint South Korea-US air exercise 'Vigilant Storm' due to military provocations but also against the Taeguk Exercise, which is conducted as a 'wargame.'
On the 7th, the external propaganda outlet Ryomyong posted a statement on its website under the name of Choe Myung-gil of the National Reconciliation Council, saying, "Despite our serious warnings, they are openly boasting about launching another exercise starting from the 7th."
Although the specific name of the exercise was not mentioned, it appears to refer to the '22 Taeguk Exercise' held over four days starting that day.
Ryomyong criticized, "The war exercises desperately carried out by the traitorous Yoon Seok-yeol faction are, without exception, reckless gunfire by madmen trying to bring a black cloud of nuclear war to the Korean Peninsula."
It added, "We have already given enough advice and warnings to make them understand the catastrophic consequences that their reckless bravado will bring," and claimed, "Like a one-day puppy unaware of the tiger's fear, they are rampaging and have placed themselves on the most dangerous judgment stand of destruction."
The Taeguk Exercise, conducted as a solo drill for the first time in four years, is a command post exercise prepared against various threats such as North Korea's nuclear and missile capabilities, and is carried out as a 'wargame' using computer simulations (CPX) without mobilizing troops or equipment.
