[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Hyundai Home Shopping announced on the 7th that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year, including Hyundai Home Shopping, Hyundai L&C, and Hyundai Rental Care, reached 34.1 billion KRW, a 23.1% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, sales decreased by 1.8% to 564 billion KRW, and net profit fell by 38.1% to 40.6 billion KRW.
Hyundai Home Shopping's standalone operating profit for the third quarter was 29.2 billion KRW, up 1.5% from the same period last year, and net sales increased by 5.8% to 275.6 billion KRW. Cumulative operating profit rose by 8.1% to 91.5 billion KRW compared to the same period last year. Cumulative sales increased by 2.7% to 818.9 billion KRW.
A Hyundai Home Shopping official stated, "Although sales slightly increased year-on-year due to strong performance in data broadcasting, operating profit slightly decreased due to increased transmission fees."
