The National Information Society Agency (NIA), led by Director Hwang Jong-seong, announced that on Monday, November 14, it will hold the "Self-Made and Self-Practiced Smartphone Life Talk Concert" (hereinafter referred to as the Talk Concert) at the National Gugak Middle School to promote proper smartphone usage.
This Talk Concert is designed to enhance adolescents' understanding of the seriousness of smartphone overdependence and to foster mutual understanding and communication through sharing opinions between parents and children regarding smartphone use.
The Talk Concert consists of two parts: Part 1 is a special lecture on preventing smartphone overdependence and forming proper usage habits, and Part 2 is a dialogue where students and parents share their opinions on smartphone use within the family.
In Part 1, Professor Kim Kyung-il from the Department of Psychology at Ajou University will deliver a lecture and conduct a Q&A session on proper smartphone usage habits and coping strategies for various situations, addressing questions from students and parents. Part 2 will provide a platform for honest communication between students and parents about smartphone use at home and discuss practical measures for proper use.
The Talk Concert will be broadcast live online via the Smart Sleep Center's YouTube channel as well as held offline at the National Gugak Middle School, allowing anyone to watch.
Meanwhile, NIA Director Hwang Jong-seong stated, "At a time when the issue of smartphone overdependence among adolescents is becoming serious, we expect this Talk Concert to serve as an opportunity for students to recognize the problem themselves and establish healthy usage habits."
