[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Since his inauguration, Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, has been actively engaging in communication to realize 'open educational administration.'
To expand communication, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has held five sessions of 'Meeting the Superintendent Day!' and met with complainants 34 times regarding other educational issues since Superintendent Ha's inauguration.
The first 'Meeting the Superintendent Day!' held in August received a total of 38 meeting requests during the five sessions.
At this event, Superintendent Ha shared opinions with complainants on educational issues such as ▲ operation of school sports teams ▲ improvement of the educational environment in Sasang-gu schools ▲ expansion of customized support for students with disabilities ▲ establishment of a high school in the Ilgwang area and installation of a CSAT testing site in Gijang-gun ▲ support for out-of-school youth.
Among the opinions shared, Superintendent Ha personally visited schools to inspect and ordered improvements for the educational environment in Sasang-gu schools, and decided to install the CSAT testing site in Gijang-gun starting from this exam. Support for vulnerable educational groups such as students with disabilities and out-of-school youth will also be strengthened.
In addition to this event, Superintendent Ha held 34 meetings over three months to directly meet with complainants and listen to various opinions, creating time for communication.
Regarding the relocation of Busan Nam High School, he met directly with residents of Yeongdo-gu to explain the progress and necessity of the relocation. He also promised budget support to enhance educational capacity in the Yeongdo area following the relocation of Busan Nam High School.
Furthermore, to support middle school basketball team students who have been traveling over an hour for training due to gymnasium construction, arrangements were made to allow them to use the nearby National Sports Center gymnasium three times a week.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “People have different thoughts and ways to solve problems, but I aim to prioritize the development of Busan education and the students' perspectives to resolve current issues through communication. I will continue to strive to reflect the valuable opinions of everyone I meet in our policies.”
