Assemblyman Byeon Jae-il Hosts Forum on 'Tax Support Improvement Measures for Revitalizing the Content Industry' Assemblyman Byeon Jae-il

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] On the 10th at 9:30 AM, Assemblyman Byeon Jae-il of the Democratic Party, a member of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Communications Committee, will hold the "Forum on Institutional Improvement for Strengthening K-Content Competitiveness 2" at the National Assembly Members' Office Building Seminar Room 2, under the theme "Tax Support Improvement Measures for Revitalizing the Content Industry." The "Forum on Institutional Improvement for Strengthening K-Content Competitiveness" is co-hosted by Assemblyman Byeon Jae-il, Assemblyman Kim Young-sik of the People Power Party, and the Media Future Research Institute.


This forum, the second in the series of forums for institutional improvement to revitalize K-Content, will feature a presentation by Lee Chan-gu, Research Fellow at the Media Future Research Institute, on "Improvement Measures for Tax Support Policies on Video Content Production Costs in Response to Changes in the Production Environment," and a presentation by Professor Park Jong-soo of Korea University on "Measures to Expand Tax Support for Increasing Content Investment."


The comprehensive discussion will include Kang Dong-jin, Director of the Cultural Industry Policy Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Professor Guseong Kwon of Myongji College; Labor Hwan, Team Leader at Wave; Um Jae-yong, Director at SBS; Yoon Jeong-in, Director of the Tax Incentive System Division at the Ministry of Economy and Finance; and Lim Seok-bong, JTBC representative.


Assemblyman Byeon Jae-il emphasized, "Since the airing of Squid Game, global interest in K-Content has increased thirtyfold, and K-Content is expanding beyond Asia to the world," adding, "This is an important time to set government support directions such as tax support to enhance K-Content competitiveness and revitalize the content industry sector through activating content investment."
