Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, Receives 'Institutional Commendation' from Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do received a commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for its contribution to the expansion and activation of spatial information.

Spatial information refers to all location information existing in space and is used in navigation, online map creation, and more.

The county has been promoting a project worth 1.4 billion KRW in national funds since last year through selection in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Digital Twin Land Pilot Project (Phase 1)’. Digital twin technology uses spatial information to create virtual objects identical to real ones and conduct various simulations.

The core of the project is building 3D-based data and developing administrative utilization models. The administrative utilization models under development include ▲garden creation simulation ▲building color design ▲slate replacement support service ▲parking guidance service ▲field survey management system across five sectors.

The ‘Road and Underground Facility Digitization Project,’ which creates data on the location and attribute information of roads and underground facilities throughout Jangseong, is being promoted based on a comprehensive plan. As the first phase, data construction for Jinwon-myeon, Nam-myeon, and Hwangryong-myeon has been completed.

The ‘Spatial Information Integration System,’ which comprehensively provides spatial and administrative information such as real estate, roads, and population, also contributes to improving work convenience and efficiency.

Kim Han-jong, Jangseong County Governor, said on the 6th, “We will complete the construction of spatial information and actively utilize it for proactive resolution of various urban issues, sustainable development, and improving the quality of life for residents.”
