Both Professionals and Amateurs Participate in 18-Hole Stroke Play
After 25 Tournaments, the Champions Tournament... Total Prize Money of 1.4 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Taewon] A men's golf tournament open to both professional tour players and amateur players will be held.
Cube Sports Management announced on the 4th that it will host the '2023 One Day Golf Tour' at Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Podo Country Club from March to November next year to revitalize men's golf in Korea.
With a total prize money of 1.4 billion KRW, this tournament allows participation from professional players affiliated with the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) and the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF), as well as amateur players. However, amateurs must have a handicap of 5 or below to qualify.
The competition format is an 18-hole stroke play, with a total of 25 rounds held, followed by a final championship to determine the ultimate winner.
The prize money for the first 20 tournaments is 30 million KRW. Afterwards, the prize money increases to 50 million KRW and then 100 million KRW depending on the round, with a total prize of 500 million KRW for the final championship. Qualification for the final championship is based on points accumulated over the 25 tournaments.
Membership registration for tournament participation will be available from the end of October, and applications can be submitted through the official One Day Golf Tour website starting February 2023.
