Changnyeong-gun Achieves Excellence as an 'Outstanding' Institution in Comprehensive Road Maintenance Evaluation

Doing Our Best to Maintain Delegated Roads, Local Roads, and County Roads as Legal Roads or Below

Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, achieved the great success of being selected as an 'Excellent' institution in the comprehensive road maintenance evaluation.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, achieved the great success of being selected as an ‘Excellent’ institution in the 2022 Comprehensive Road Maintenance Evaluation conducted by Gyeongnam Province.

The county was recognized for excellent road maintenance cases such as designating village resident protection zones in sections with frequent resident traffic, installing signboards to prohibit unauthorized dumping on roads, and operating brine sprayers in black ice sections during winter.

The county maintained and managed 38 routes totaling 494.7 km to provide a pleasant and safe road environment.

They inspected disaster risk factors such as facilities and drainage structures whose road functions deteriorated due to concentrated summer heavy rains, graffiti on road slopes, and landslide risk areas.

In addition, they invested 3.9 billion KRW in projects such as road resurfacing, lane painting, and drainage facility maintenance, and carried out roadside tree pruning to clear signs for safe road operation, roadside grass cutting, and removal of illegal facilities.

A county official said, “We will do our best to maintain and manage roads that are safer and more pleasant than any other region in the country.”

The county is making efforts to prevent freezing accidents by preparing snow removal boxes along the roads in preparation for the upcoming winter season.
