[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the U.S. National Security Council (NSC), stated on the 2nd (local time) that "we have received information that North Korea has provided a significant amount of weapons to Russia for the war in Ukraine."
Coordinator Kirby told reporters on the same day that "we will closely monitor whether these weapons are actually delivered to Russia." He also added that the United Nations (UN) will hold North Korea accountable for providing weapons to Russia.
Regarding North Korea's launch of a short-range ballistic missile near South Korea's territorial waters south of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the East Sea for the first time since the division, Coordinator Kirby reaffirmed the condemnation, saying, "While it does not pose an immediate threat to the American people, territory, or allies, the missile launch demonstrates North Korea's reckless decision and its impact on regional security."
