[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] On the 2nd, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education signed the 21st integrated after-school program operation agreement with Busanjin-gu Gaya Youth Center.

This center operates the ‘Gaya Integrated After-School Program’ for students from 11 schools including Gasan Elementary School.

The integrated after-school program is an out-of-school after-school project first launched nationwide by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education in 2017, operated in connection with local institutions, universities, and the community.

It offers various programs reflecting changes in the times and new student demands, such as high-quality literature, arts, and physical education programs that are difficult to establish at individual schools.

Through the agreement, the ‘Gaya Integrated After-School Program’ will operate various programs for students’ holistic growth, including AI webtoon, coding drones, new sports, and drum classes using professional instructors.

In addition, to ensure students’ convenience and safety in transportation, shuttle buses will be operated, and SMS services for class attendance and return notifications will also be provided.

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “We plan to provide various educational opportunities to students through the operation of integrated after-school programs in cooperation with the local community,” adding, “We will support students to develop their talents and aptitudes through this.”
