KakaoNavi Supports iPhone 14 'Dynamic Island'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The domestic navigation application 'Kakao Navi' supports the 'Dynamic Island' feature installed on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

Kakao Mobility, which operates Kakao Navi, announced on the 2nd that it has released version 4.8.0 update and supports the Dynamic Island user interface (UI).

Kakao Navi provides route guidance and remaining distance information. Users can register places in the widget to check the estimated arrival time and start driving immediately. It is also provided in widget form on the lock screen.

Dynamic Island is a UI design that transforms the hardware (HW) flaw of the iPhone notch design, which impaired aesthetics, into software (SW) technology. Users can interact with notifications simply by tapping or pressing. It is like having widgets always displayed on the screen and up to two can be used simultaneously. It was applied only to the two premium models among the iPhone 14 series released in September this year.

Apps supporting Dynamic Island mainly include Apple’s native apps such as Voice Memos, Maps, and FaceTime. In addition, some external apps like 'YouTube', 'YouTube Music', 'Melon', 'Flo', 'Bugs', and 'Naver Clova' were also available. It was expected that apps implementing the application programming interface (API) according to the developer’s capability would be supported sequentially.

Meanwhile, the new update of Kakao Navi on the same day included features that provide CCTV footage while driving and check my location tags on the map.
