Hanwha Systems Signs 160 Billion KRW Contract for Mass Production of K15 Machine Gun Sighting Devices

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Hanwha Systems will supply approximately 14,000 K15 machine gun aiming devices to the government by 2025.

On the 2nd, Hanwha Systems announced that it signed a contract worth about 160 billion KRW with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for the 'K15 Machine Gun Aiming Device (PAS-18K)' project. According to the contract, Hanwha Systems plans to supply around 14,000 K15 machine gun aiming devices by November 2025.

The aiming devices supplied by Hanwha Systems use a thermal sight system that enables aiming both day and night, allowing accurate battlefield observation even in adverse weather conditions such as nighttime and fog. They are also equipped with a dot sight (optical sight), enabling users to quickly aim and shoot with both eyes.

The aiming devices are integrated with the K15 machine gun and are characterized by their ability to effectively suppress densely concentrated enemy units at long distances.

Kim Young-ho, Head of the Command and Control Division at Hanwha Systems, said, "Since the aiming devices to be supplied this time are key equipment that can improve shooting accuracy and enhance soldiers' combat capability and survivability, we will do our best to ensure they are operational in a timely manner."
