Damyang-gun Recruiting Participants for 'Tourism Vulnerable Groups Happy Travel Activity Support Project'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 2nd, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is recruiting participants for the ‘Tourism Vulnerable Group Happiness Travel Activity Support Project,’ which targets low-income and disabled people marginalized from tourism activities, until the 16th.

The applicants must be tourism vulnerable groups aged 6 or older residing in Damyang (recipients of basic living subsidies and those in the next lower income bracket), with a total of 208 people being recruited: 25 in the disabled category and 183 in the low-income category.

The supported travel product is a day trip worth approximately 150,000 KRW, and applicants can choose from four products selected through a public contest (1 for disabled, 3 for low-income).

To apply, applicants should refer to the notice posted on the Damyang-gun website under ‘Notices and Announcements,’ fill out the application form, and submit it in person at the local town or township office of their residence.

A county official said, “Through this project, we hope that residents who have faced restrictions in tourism activities due to social and economic conditions will regain vitality in life by traveling to beautiful Namdo tourist destinations,” adding, “We will continue to provide various programs for vulnerable groups in the future.”
