President Yoon Visits Itaewon Tragedy Victims' Funeral Hall to Console Bereaved Families President Yoon Suk-yeol paid his respects at the funeral hall set up for the victims of the Itaewon tragedy at a funeral home in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province on the 1st.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] President Yoon Suk-yeol personally visited the funeral hall of the Itaewon disaster victims to offer his condolences.


On the 1st, President Yoon comforted a father who lost his daughter in the incident at a funeral hall in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, according to a written briefing by Lee Jae-myung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office.


President Yoon held the hand of the deceased's father and bowed his head, saying, "I don't know what words of comfort to offer." To the deceased's younger brother, he said, "Please take good care of your father."


President Yoon then met with bereaved families who lost their wives and daughters at a funeral hall in Seoul to pay tribute. This condolence visit was made according to President Yoon's wish to express his sympathy to the families.


Following his visit to the joint memorial altar at Seoul Plaza on the 31st of last month, President Yoon also visited the joint memorial altar near the accident site on this day to express his condolences.
