[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Among the injured in the Itaewon disaster, the condition of four people previously classified as minor injuries has worsened and they have been reclassified as serious injuries.
As of 6 p.m. on the 1st, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters reported a total of 157 injured, including 33 serious injuries and 124 minor injuries, and 156 deaths. Among the deceased, 67 have completed their funerals, and 60 are awaiting funerals.
Among the deceased, 29 have not yet been placed in the mortuary. This includes 22 foreigners whose repatriation to their home countries is in progress, and 7 who are being moved to the mortuary. The foreign deceased are from a total of 14 countries, numbering 26 people.
Of the 157 injured, 118 have returned home, and 39 are currently hospitalized.
