Gyeongbuk TP Hainseong's Term Extended by 1 Year, Tightening the Reins for a Greater Leap Forward Hainseong, Director of Gyeongbuk Technopark.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Ha In-seong, the director of Gyeongbuk Technopark, will lead the institution again until the end of October next year through a one-year extension of his term.

Director Ha was inaugurated as the 8th director of Gyeongbuk Technopark in November 2020 and has led the organization for two years. In August, the Personnel Verification Committee of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council reviewed his management performance and future work plans, and the one-year extension was approved by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Gyeongbuk Province.

Since Director Ha's inauguration, Gyeongbuk Technopark has continued to achieve excellent results, earning the highest grade annually in major projects such as the regional specialized industry development project, regional industry promotion plan, and smart factory dissemination and expansion project performance evaluation.

In particular, in the management performance evaluation of technoparks conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, it achieved the highest national level results consecutively last year and this year, earning the top grade (S grade).

In 2021, through the planning and designation of the Gimcheon Smart Green Logistics Regulatory Free Zone and in 2022, the Gyeongsan Next-generation Wireless Charging Regulatory Free Zone for Electric Vehicles, it has been recognized for raising its status by discovering future growth engines in various fields and establishing a foundation for new industry growth in the region.

Gyeongbuk TP has been continuously engaged in community contribution activities over the past two years to become an institution that coexists with the local community.

Since Director Ha's inauguration, various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities have been continuously carried out, including group blood donations, helping local farms for two years, supporting wildfire sites in Uljin County, assisting flood recovery in Pohang, and delivering donation items for holidays. Additionally, through the establishment of strategies for ESG management, it has initiated sustainable management.

Going forward, Gyeongbuk Technopark plans to solidify its identity as a regional innovation hub and enterprise support institution by adjusting the functions of the Policy Planning Division and the Enterprise Support Division.

The Policy Planning Division will strengthen its industrial promotion policy planning functions by reflecting the direction of regional industry restructuring and will also focus on planning functions for balanced regional development.

The Enterprise Support Division plans to induce synergy in enterprise support through the operation of a one-stop enterprise support system, including the Crisis Support Center, which is currently a task force directly under the director.

As a measure to strengthen the institution's professional capabilities, it plans to improve project implementation efficiency by categorizing government and local government key projects into functions, strategies, and industries.

Targeting small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the region's main industries, it will continue to provide services such as technology development, enterprise support, and equipment utilization, while utilizing the existing regional specialized centers established by zone to serve as a forward base for balanced regional development.

Ha In-seong, director of Gyeongbuk Technopark, said, “The extension of my term was possible because of the achievements made through the unity of all members of Gyeongbuk Technopark,” and added, “During the remaining term, I will do my best not to be complacent with the current achievements but to achieve a greater leap forward.”
