According to the detailed implementation plan released this time, the 8th term Gokseong-gun will promote 49 campaign pledge projects across 5 major sectors.

By sector, there are ▲13 projects for an Attractive Happy City, ▲4 projects for an Educational City where Everyone Grows, ▲6 projects for Seamless Customized Welfare, ▲13 projects for Emotional Healing Ecotourism, and ▲13 projects for Income-generating Future Agriculture. A total of 660.7 billion KRW will be required to realize all the pledges.

Among the representative pledges, those aimed at overcoming the local extinction crisis draw attention first.

The first pledge in this plan is the formation of a public-private-academic cooperation group to overcome the extinction crisis.

This group aims for joint response by public, private, and academic sectors to the local extinction crisis to seek mutual development of the region, with the inauguration ceremony scheduled for November 4.

The cooperation group will form a practical council for win-win cooperation to discover regionally specialized strategic industries and joint tasks in various fields such as population, education, jobs, youth, housing, and smart farms.

To solve youth employment and residence issues, a youth village called Cheongbaek Smart Village, where 1,000 young residents live, will be established.

Cheongbaek Smart Village will include not only residential spaces but also incubation facilities for youth entrepreneurship and employment.

Additionally, to support stable settlement of youth, shared offices for youth startups will be provided.

Also, starting next year, the “Return of the Silver Fish” project will be implemented, which provides 3 million KRW to young people from Gokseong who get employed at local companies.

In the economic sector, strategic industries will be promoted by leveraging the characteristics of each region.

The Gokseong-eup area will be developed as a stay-type complex hub centered on education, culture, and tourism.

The Ok-gwa area will be established as a future strategic industry hub focused on smart farms, startups, and creative farming, while the Seokgok area aims to be an ecological healing hub linked to forest ecological resources.

For local merchants and businesses struggling due to the economic downturn, the pledge is to prioritize local companies in construction orders, material purchases, and service contracts.

Currently, the and are under legislative notice.

Furthermore, the traditional market in Gokseong-eup Train Village will be transformed into a cultural tourism type to revitalize the traditional market.

The Osan Un-gok Specialized Agricultural Industrial Complex will be quickly sold out, and a new agricultural industrial complex will be established in the Ok-gwa area to create jobs and drive the local economy.

In the education sector, the Gokseong-type education ecosystem will be further strengthened.

Centered on the Gokseong Future Education Foundation, creative education and future talent nurturing education will be specialized, and a lifelong education system where everyone from children to adults grows will be established.

Also, playgrounds designed directly by children will be installed in three regions, and youth will be supported by providing a youth culture voucher card worth about 200,000 KRW annually.

In the welfare sector, elderly safety and prevention of solitary deaths are core pledges.

An emergency safety system will be expanded and installed in homes of elderly living alone aged 65 and over.

Additionally, a project to install smart care plugs in homes of high-risk safety groups aged 50 and over will be promoted.

Moreover, elderly health management centers will be operated by region to support health management of senior residents.

In the tourism sector, the Seomjin River and Daehwang River will be utilized more actively.

First, ecological healing rest areas and exciting leisure infrastructure will be established along the Seomjin and Daehwang rivers.

Also, to revitalize night tourism, a night tourism site (a tourist spot shining with light) will be created at Gajeong Station.

Other plans include creating stay-type ecological tourist sites by utilizing forests such as establishing natural recreation forests.

To strengthen agricultural competitiveness, the goal is to achieve a budget of 100 billion KRW in the agriculture and forestry sector during the term.

The Gokseong-type smart farm complex will also be promoted, including ICT convergence rental smart farms and dormitories for young startup farmers.

To nurture young farmers, measures to increase subsidy rates or expand the scale of existing support projects will be pursued.

Additionally, the voucher card support fund for female farmers will be expanded from 200,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW annually.

Gokseong-gun plans to conduct quarterly self-inspections on the progress of pledge implementation and actively and effectively promote the pledges by collecting residents’ opinions once a year together with the pledge implementation evaluation group.

Governor Lee Sang-cheol of Gokseong-gun said, “We will carry out the 8th term pledges without any setbacks so that they can become the foundation for the new 100 years of Gokseong.”
