Mercedes-Benz Launches 'Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 31st that it will launch a limited edition model of the 'Mercedes-AMG G 63.'

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55 is a model commemorating the 55th anniversary of Mercedes-AMG. The G-Class, known for its unique box-shaped design, powerful driving performance, and top-level safety, has been enhanced with special design elements celebrating the 55th anniversary. This Edition 55 model will be limited to a total of 85 units sold domestically.

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55 features special design elements unique to AMG, such as ‘Edition 55’ lettering applied throughout the vehicle. Additionally, it boasts even more powerful performance with the Performance Package. The Performance Package includes an AMG carbon fiber engine cover applied to the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine and increases the top speed to 240 km/h, enabling the Mercedes-AMG G 63 to demonstrate its strong driving potential.

Johannes Schoen, Vice President of Product, Marketing, and Digital Business at Mercedes-Benz Korea, stated, “Mercedes-AMG has delivered differentiated value unique to AMG over the past 55 years through outstanding driving performance and a diverse lineup,” adding, “The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55 model maximizes the rarity as a limited edition by adding special design elements and a Performance Package that highlight AMG’s distinctive sensibility.”

Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Edition 55, Mercedes-Benz Korea will exhibit the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55 model throughout November at the AMG-exclusive brand center ‘AMG Seoul.’ The price of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55, including VAT, is 293.6 million KRW, and customers can inquire and purchase the product at 64 authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide.
