[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Indonesia Hana Bank is holding an event to inform Korean companies operating locally about the outlook for the Indonesian and overseas financial markets.
Indonesia Hana Bank announced on the 31st that it held the '2023 Economic Outlook Seminar' together with the Jakarta branch of the Korea International Trade Association (hereinafter KITA).
The event, held at the Mulia Hotel in Indonesia, was organized to analyze economic issues and provide insights for overcoming crises amid uncertain economic conditions for Korean businesspeople active in Indonesia.
About 500 people attended, including economic figures and experts such as Muhammad Chatib Basri, former Indonesian Minister of Finance; Febrio Nathan Kacaribu, current Chairman of the Ministry of Finance's Fiscal Policy Committee; and Jung Yutak and Kang Mijeong, researchers at Hana Financial Management Research Institute, as well as Korean businesspeople.
Former Minister Muhammad Chatib Basri gave lectures on topics such as ▲the impact of the global economic crisis on the Indonesian economy ▲government policies ▲domestic economy, raw materials, and trade surplus trends.
Researchers Jung Yutak and Kang Mijeong from Hana Financial Management Research Institute analyzed major global economic issues along with opportunities in Indonesia such as ▲improvement of the foreign investment environment ▲New Capital Project ▲acceleration of global value chain restructuring, as well as threats including ▲volatility in emerging market financial markets ▲raw material price volatility ▲dependence on China.
Hong Yooyoung, a customs officer at the Korea International Trade Association, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Response to and Utilization of the Korea-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)'.
