[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] The Emergency Response Committee of the People Power Party visited Chungnam on the 28th to reaffirm their determination to win the next general election.

On the same day in Cheonan, Chungnam, Emergency Response Committee Chairman Jeong Jin-seok met with party members of the People Power Party Chungnam Provincial Party and said, "It seems that we have achieved a regime change, but it is not yet complete," adding, "The general election will be held on April 10, 2024. The People Power Party must become the first party and the majority party in the general election to strongly support the Yoon Seok-yeol administration." He raised his voice, saying, "We must help the Yoon Seok-yeol administration take off vigorously. I ask you to take responsibility and resolve this."

Regarding the Democratic Party of Korea, he criticized, "The president was reporting to the people, but they rejected the (budget) policy speech and only protested outside," and said, "They are using their 169 seats as a means to conceal criminal and corrupt charges against Representative Lee Jae-myung because they do not want to lose control of the political situation." He directly stated, "The confrontation between the People Power Party and the Democratic Party is a battle of 'common sense versus nonsense.'"

He also addressed Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Eui-gyeom's allegations about a drinking party involving President Yoon and Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon, saying, "They hid behind parliamentary immunity without even verifying the facts. This is unacceptable in the hall of public opinion," and emphasized, "We must discipline the Democratic Party. Whether it is common sense or nonsense, the judgment and decision belong solely to the people."

Emergency Response Committee member Jeon Ju-hye added, "The conclusion of the presidential election victory is to become the undisputed first party in the general election, support the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's governance as the ruling party, and smoothly carry out necessary policies and legislation." Committee member Kim Haeng also said, "Since the People Power Party has too few seats, I feel that the tyranny of the 169-seat giant opposition party is excessive," emphasizing, "Only by winning the general election and becoming the majority party can the regime change be truly achieved."

The Emergency Response Committee held its second regional field meeting in Cheonan, Chungnam, following the Daegu-Gyeongbuk meeting on the 13th, addressing local issues. They plan to continue visiting local areas to listen to public sentiment.
