Car Designer X Novak Collaboration Achieves Good Design Award Victory

Motorcycle accessory brand NOVAC announced on the 28th that its 'Signature Hip Sack' was selected as a 'Good Design' (GD) award winner at the '2022 Excellent Design Product Awards' hosted by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion.

The Good Design Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, is a representative domestic design competition. The awards target product designs produced or confirmed for release within the last two years, and winners are selected through a fair evaluation by experts in each category. Products selected as excellent designs are granted the government certification mark, the 'Good Design (GD)' mark.

The selected NOVAC Signature Hip Sack is the first work by automobile designer Son Hee-jung (Kookmin University). It is a premium hip sack that perfectly captures the super motorsports sensibility with the beauty of curved lines shaped like a racing track, a three-dimensional and highly durable design. It has received high praise for both functionality and design as a unique fashion item for everyday life as well as bike wear, becoming the first motorcycle bag to be selected as a Good Design product.

A NOVAC representative said, “We are doubly pleased that the collaboration between a bag and vehicle designer, which no brand has attempted before, has brought successful results,” and added, “Please look forward to Son Designer’s work, which is scheduled to be released as part of the Signature series.”
