The superintendent's company visits have been conducted since last year with the purpose of overcoming the employment crisis of vocational high school graduates and revitalizing high school graduate employment by communicating with companies on-site and discussing various development directions for vocational high school students' field training and employment.
Mototronics International Korea, visited this time, is a company that develops and manufactures an energy-saving device called a "soft starter," which reduces the power consumption and extends the lifespan of motors and generators.
The company was designated as a promising export small and medium enterprise this year and was selected as a Ulsan Star Company. It is also an excellent company in hiring high school graduates, recruiting two vocational high school students annually due to its high interest in hiring local talent.
During the meeting with the company representative and principals of Ulsan Meister High School and Hyundai Technical High School, opinions on high school graduate employment were shared among institutions, and discussions were held on cooperation between companies and schools and support measures from the education office to establish a positive atmosphere for high school graduate employment.
Subsequently, they also shared their opinions on the future development direction of vocational education.
The superintendent visited two companies, Linno Aluminum and Autotec, last year and held two CEO meetings to maintain continuous communication with companies.
Starting with this visit to Mototronics International Korea, the superintendent plans to visit additional outstanding companies in hiring high school graduates to further strengthen on-site communication.
Superintendent No Ok-hee said, “Schools should actively reflect the voices of the industrial field in student education, and the education office hopes to cooperate together with various support measures so that vocational high schools can become schools that students want to attend.”
