[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] CJ ENM announced on the 26th that director Yoon Je-kyun's new film 'Hero,' which attracted the first-ever 'double ten million' audience, will be released in December.

Adapted from the original musical of the same name, 'Hero' depicts the unforgettable final year of independence activist Ahn Jung-geun, from preparing for the assassination of Ito Hirobumi in Harbin in October 1909 to his death after being sentenced to death by a Japanese court. This is director Yoon Je-kyun's first new work in eight years, known for directing 'Haeundae' (2009) and 'Ode to My Father' (2014). The cast includes Jung Sung-hwa, Kim Go-eun, Na Moon-hee, Jo Jae-yoon, Bae Jung-nam, Lee Hyun-woo, and Park Jin-joo.

The trailer released on the same day captures the Harbin incident on October 26, 1909, when Ito Hirobumi was assassinated, and the final moments of Ahn Jung-geun, who was sentenced to death by the Japanese court and died on March 26, 1910. In particular, the hand seal of Ahn Jung-geun, imbued with the spirit of the Danzig Alliance, which pledged to fight for the country with comrades, combined with the copy appearing at the end and Jung Sung-hwa's voice, amplifies the lingering impression.
