Coffee Grounds Class Scheduled for Employees

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] KT Alpha announced on the 25th that it is practicing various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities, such as plogging?picking up trash while jogging or walking?and operating coffee grounds classes that make natural fertilizer using coffee grounds.

KT Alpha held a plogging event with its employees at Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. Employees who wished to participate in the environmental protection campaign voluntarily joined, adding significance to the event.

Since June this year, KT Alpha has been conducting an environmental education project for 2,000 elementary school students at schools and local children’s centers located in Gwanak-gu, Dongjak-gu, and Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The project involves learning about the realities of environmental pollution and solutions, as well as hands-on activities such as making candles, keyrings, and flowerpots using coffee grounds (byproducts left after extracting coffee liquid) collected from the company’s cafes and local small coffee shops.

Next month, KT Alpha plans to operate a coffee grounds recycling class for its employees. The activity will involve creating various upcycled products using coffee grounds collected from the company’s cafes and cafes in Dongjak-gu, contributing to the spread of a culture of resource circulation and environmental protection.
