Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group Successfully Hosts AI·SW Coding Concert at Gangjin High School

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group recently announced on the 24th that it successfully completed the ‘2022 Gangjin High School AI·SW Coding Concert’ program at Gangjin High School.

This program, conducted for first and second-year students at Gangjin High School located in Gangjin, Jeonnam, was prepared to expand the base of software (SW) and AI (artificial intelligence).

The event, under the theme of ‘AI and Robot Coding, Autonomous Driving, and Smart City,’ provided students with opportunities to understand AI and SW, assist in career choices, and develop computational thinking skills for the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Professor Cho Youngjoo in charge from Chosun University and student teaching assistants Lee Hyunjun, Kim Seongwook, and Seo Kyunghyun from the Department of Computer Engineering, College of IT Convergence, participated.

Professor Cho Youngjoo said, “The Gangjin High School AI·SW Coding Concert program held today was part of the software education innovation project for elementary, middle, and high school students from underprivileged groups conducted by the SW-Centered University Project Group. I feel rewarded to provide AI·SW education opportunities in robot coding education combined with AI and SW, autonomous driving, and smart city fields.”

He added, “I hope that more students benefited from bridging the AI (artificial intelligence) and SW (software) gap, and we will continue to develop and conduct AI·SW-related education that can have a positive impact across all sectors of our society to promote the value of artificial intelligence and software.”

Kim Byungin, principal of Gangjin High School, stated, “Through the ‘2022 Gangjin High School AI·SW Coding Concert’ program, our students had an opportunity to become more familiar with artificial intelligence and software. We deeply appreciate Professor Cho Youngjoo and the Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group for traveling a long way to conduct this interesting special lecture. We hope that AI·SW education aligned with the trends of the times will continue in 2023.”
