[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lee Seonjeong, the management leader of CJ Olive Young, has been appointed as the youngest female CEO within CJ Group.

CJ Olive Young announced on the 24th that with Gu Changgeun, the CEO of CJ Olive Young, moving to CJ ENM, Lee Seonjeong, who was serving as the head of the sales division, will take over as the new CEO.

The new CEO, born in 1977, is the youngest CEO within the group and the first female CEO of Olive Young. Lee is recognized as a market expert proficient in the beauty business. The consensus is that her leadership emphasizes solid and stable management led by a beauty expert. Industry insiders expect CJ Olive Young to focus on strengthening its fundamentals centered on the beauty market rather than aggressively pushing for numbers immediately, especially with the delay in its IPO timeline.

CJ Olive Young, through this appointment of the business division head, plans to strengthen its omnichannel strategy while reinforcing its unrivaled influence in the Health & Beauty (H&B) sector.

Meanwhile, CJ Olive Young's consolidated sales last year reached 2.1192 trillion KRW, a 13% increase compared to the previous year. Operating profit surged by 38% to 137.8 billion KRW.
