[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced that it will start selling tickets from 10 a.m. on the 24th and hold a ticket promotion ahead of its new service on the Incheon~Sydney route.
T'way Air will launch its first long-haul route and the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) route from Incheon to Sydney starting December 23. The airline will operate four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday). By deploying the A330-300 aircraft, it will expand seat capacity and enhance travel convenience for passengers.
To celebrate the new service to Sydney, Australia, T'way Air will run a promotion offering super-discounted tickets and various benefits on its website and mobile app/web until the 2nd of next month.
During the promotion period, from Monday to Friday on weekdays starting at 10 a.m., a time attack event will be held where 10 one-way tickets for the Incheon~Sydney route will be sold daily at a fare of 10,000 KRW, with a total one-way price including fuel surcharge and airport tax of 163,300 KRW, on a first-come, first-served basis. Even after the 10 seats are sold out, discounted event tickets will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.
The fuel surcharge for the one-way Incheon~Sydney segment will also be significantly reduced by 55%, from the existing $137 to $61, easing the burden on customers. At 3 p.m. every day, 100 discount coupons for in-flight meals worth 5,000 KRW will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. On this route, two meals are provided free of charge in Business Saver Class and one meal in Economy Class. Economy passengers can use the discount coupon when pre-ordering an additional meal.
The boarding period is from December 23 to March 25 of next year, which is the optimal time to travel to Australia, where the seasons are opposite to those in Korea. Additionally, when paying over 500,000 KRW via KakaoPay, a 30,000 KRW discount coupon is provided; when paying over 100,000 KRW with an NH Nonghyup Card, a 10,000 KRW discount coupon is given; and when paying over 300,000 KRW, a 20,000 KRW discount coupon is offered. One fee waiver for itinerary changes will also be granted later.
Moreover, various discount benefits are available through partnerships with activity providers and duty-free shops. Detailed information about the promotion can be found in the events section on the T'way Air website, and the total amount may vary depending on the booking date and exchange rate.
T'way Air plans to expand options and facilitate convenient air travel for expatriates, international students, business travelers, and tourists traveling between the two countries by providing essential services such as in-flight meals and checked baggage free of charge, despite reasonable fare levels.
Business Saver Class seats, equipped with premium flat beds and individual partitions, offer amenities such as slippers, eye masks, toothbrush sets, and blankets.
The Incheon~Sydney flight schedule departs Incheon Airport at 10:20 p.m. local time every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, arriving in Sydney at 10:45 a.m. the next day. The return flights depart Sydney Airport at 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving at Incheon Airport at 9:05 p.m.
