[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] As forecasts of a winter resurgence of COVID-19 emerge, the number of new COVID-19 cases on the 24th is expected to increase compared to a week ago.
According to Seoul City and other local governments, from midnight to 9 p.m. on the 23rd, 13,824 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19. Due to a decrease in testing on Sunday, this figure is 11,452 fewer than the same time the previous day (25,276).
However, compared to a week ago on the 16th (10,633), the number increased by 3,191, and compared to two weeks ago on the 9th (8,549), it rose by 5,275, continuing the upward trend. Experts believe that a winter resurgence is highly likely to occur between November and December.
