This campaign is part of an awareness-raising initiative jointly hosted by UNICEF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to eradicate all violence against children and adolescents.

Mayor Park, nominated by Lee Beom-seok, Mayor of Cheongju City, held a sign with the slogan ‘#END Violence’ and participated in the campaign, then nominated Lee Ki-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, and Lee Byung-no, Mayor of Damyang County, as the next participants.

Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan District, said, “It is time for adults to unite so that all children can be respected as independent individuals,” adding, “The district will continue to pay attention and make efforts to prevent child abuse and its recurrence.”

Lee Sung-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun District, participated in the ‘Child Violence Eradication (END Violence) Campaign’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UNICEF Korea Committee on the 19th.

This campaign is conducted as a relay challenge to raise public awareness for protecting children and adolescents from all forms of violence.

On that day, Mayor Lee took a photo in his office holding a hand sign containing #END Violence, the campaign logo, and the phrase ‘Seodaemun District that does not miss a single child’ to post on his SNS.

Participating in the challenge upon the nomination of Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang City, Mayor Lee nominated Jung Moon-heon, Mayor of Jongno District, Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak District, and Lee Yang-soon, Superintendent of the Western Education Support Office, as the next participants.

Mayor Lee Sung-heon requested, “Children and adolescents must be respected as independent individuals just as they are. I ask everyone to join in so that all violence against them can be eradicated.”

Recently certified at a higher level as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City, Seodaemun District is striving to establish a child protection system by deploying dedicated child abuse officers and forming a child abuse information linkage council involving civil, public, and police sectors.

Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo District, visited Gungsan Multipurpose Gymnasium on the morning of the 20th to check the status of the ongoing drone experience education program and encourage the trainees.

Mayor Kim pledged the creation of a ‘Drone Special Zone’ to expand the base of drones, which are gaining attention as a future core industry beyond a simple hobby, and to create an environment where residents can directly experience drones.

This introductory drone education is the first step to fulfilling that promise.

The district plans to establish a drone experience center in Neighborhood Park No. 4 in the Magok district so that any resident can experience drones, starting with this drone education.

Mayor Kim expressed a strong will for the creation of the drone special zone, saying, “We will nurture future talents using drones, a core of the 4th industrial revolution, and speed up efforts to create jobs and revitalize the economy, making this a core city of the 4th industrial era.”
