Busan Gijang-gun Hosts 8th Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning Culture Festival Street Parade Children at Jeonggwan-eup daycare center are practicing the March 1st Independence Movement that they will reenact in the street parade on the 22nd.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival Promotion Committee will attempt a street parade for the first time at the 8th annual Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival this year.

The street parade will be voluntarily participated in by about 1,000 members from various organizations and residents of Jeonggwan-eup. It will start on the 22nd at 2:30 PM from the temporary parking lot in front of Jeonggwan Shindong-A Famille Apartments, divided into two groups.

Group A will proceed toward Hanjin Haemoro Apartments, and Group B will march toward Homeplus.

The street parade, themed "Time 2022," will depict the story of Jeonggwan, a happy city flowing through the past, present, and future.

First, the "past" segment honors the achievements of independence activists from Jeonggwan who led the Jacheon March 1st Movement. Participants include the Gamagol Theater Company and the Association of Daycare Centers, who will reenact the March 1st Independence Movement, showcase independence activists from Jeonggwan, and perform poetry recitations.

The "present" segment will express the young and dynamic Jeonggwan through performances such as dance and jump rope, while the "future" segment will feature Taekwondo gymnastics by children, the future leaders, to symbolize Jeonggwan's development into a child-friendly educational city and a livable ecological city.

Moon Jae-cheol, the promotion committee chairman, said, "At the 8th Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival, we have ambitiously prepared the street parade to publicly showcase the past, present, and future images of Jeonggwan and to help our festival evolve from a local event into a nationally representative festival designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism."

Kim Jong-cheon, mayor of Jeonggwan-eup, said, "To inherit the spirit of the March 1st Movement led by independence activists from Jeonggwan and to boost the pride of the townspeople, residents themselves created and voluntarily participated in the street parade," adding, "We hope for enthusiastic applause and cheers from residents and visitors as the parade proceeds."

The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival will be held over two days, the 22nd and 23rd, with various programs at Jeonggwan-eup Central Park, Plaza No. 8, and Gumojeong Park.
