The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun) is hosting, and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (President Jung Gil-hwa) is organizing the joint promotion event "CAST Park" for the Hallyu-linked collaborative content planning and development support project (CAST, hereinafter referred to as the CAST project), which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23.
The promotion will take place at the playgrounds of Gwanghwamun Square and Yukjo Square in Seoul.
Now in its third year, the CAST project aims to expand the scope of Hallyu and promote the co-growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by supporting the entire process of planning, development, promotion, and distribution of products developed by linking domestic SMEs with Hallyu content (hereinafter Hallyu IP).
At CAST Park, products from 16 participating companies collaborating with Hallyu IP will be introduced through exhibitions. Additionally, live performances by K-POP artists, side events, and on-site activities will attract visitors' attention.
Various programs featuring participating companies and Hallyu IP are also prepared, such as "Apink by K-LOOK," where Apink directly wears products in collaboration with the fashion brand Dolsilnai, and "Song Haena & Jeong Hyuk's CHIC Photo Time," where models Song Haena and Jeong Hyuk showcase Monthly Shoes products after wearing them.
The 16 companies participating in the CAST project include APC Works and NB Bebe. These companies have developed products in collaboration with illustrators like Myung Min-ho and animation studio Bread Barber Shop.
Products from the CAST project, which have been verified by domestic consumers, will participate in overseas exhibitions such as the Malaysia 2022 Hallyu Lifestyle and Culture Festival Mokkoci Daehanminguk and the Jakarta K-Brand Overseas Promotion Hall. They will also receive support for global market entry and sales channel development, including being listed on the Indonesian local platform iStyle.
President Jung Gil-hwa of the Foundation stated, "Korean dramas, movies, and K-POP have long captivated the hearts of people worldwide and widely demonstrated the resilience of Koreans. The CAST project, which has already established itself as a future Hallyu content development initiative, will once again confirm its potential in overseas markets through direct encounters with domestic and international consumers at this year's CAST Park event."
