Goseong-gun, First Organizational Restructuring of the 8th Elected Term... Driving Changes to Empower Residents Goseong County Office, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has carried out an organizational restructuring to promote stable changes for the happiness of residents in the 8th elected term and to realize the vision of county administration.


In line with the government's policy direction, the organization has been restructured without expanding personnel or departments, focusing on stability while redesigning the administrative organization by reflecting current demands such as the 8th elected term pledges and major county administration tasks, aiming to respond swiftly to rapidly changing social changes and diverse administrative demands.


According to this organizational restructuring, the current County Administration Innovation Officer position has been abolished, and a Population and Youth Promotion Team has been newly established to focus on population and youth affairs, which are key policies of the 8th elected term.


Additionally, to provide better resident safety and health care services, the head of the public health center's rank has been elevated, and the Health Administration Division and Health Promotion Division have been newly established within the public health center.


Furthermore, the Planning and Audit Officer has been changed to Planning and Budget Officer, the Civil Service Department to Open Civil Service Department, the Sports Promotion Department to Sports Industry Department, and the Job Economy Department to Economic Enterprise Department, strengthening functions and actively responding to new administrative demands.


Other departments with reduced functions or similar/overlapping organizations have also been merged or abolished to improve internal organizational efficiency.


Notably, this organizational restructuring was carried out without increasing the total number of executive agency officials, operating through personnel reallocation, aligning with the new government's personnel management direction.


The county plans to reflect these changes in the regular personnel appointments in January 2023 after the related ordinance is deliberated and approved by the council and goes through promulgation procedures.


County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “This organizational restructuring focuses on maximizing internal organizational capabilities to proactively and preemptively respond to changing administrative demands, concentrating on youth and population policies, and improving health and medical services for residents' happiness. We will devote all administrative capabilities to ensure that Goseong-gun can newly leap forward and develop through advanced organizational management.”
