Imsil-gun to Build 'International Archery Training Center' with 5.1 Billion Won Investment

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, has embarked on benchmarking advanced sites to successfully promote the construction project of the Jeollabuk-do International Archery Field Training Center, including accommodations for archery athletes.

According to the county on the 19th, County Governor Shim Min visited Daejeon Panam Athlete Village and Buyeo Lotte Resort on the 18th along with officials in charge of sports promotion and facility construction.

During this visit, they examined detailed matters regarding facility layout plans and facility operations and discussed ways to enhance convenience for athletes.

The Jeollabuk-do International Archery Field Training Center construction project is being promoted with a total budget of 5.1 billion KRW (2 billion KRW national funds, 1.55 billion KRW provincial funds, 1.55 billion KRW county funds) by utilizing the green space around the archery field in Osu-myeon area.

After completing the architectural design competition in March, the project aims to complete the design service by January next year and start construction in March. The facility will have a total floor area of approximately 1,300㎡, four floors above ground, and accommodations for about 60 athletes.

In addition, rest facilities will be provided, and the county plans to directly operate the center to carry out various administrative tasks that can lead the development of domestic archery.

In particular, the Jeollabuk-do International Archery Field Training Center is expected to strengthen its role as a training ground for national team athletes by linking with various existing sports infrastructures.

The county plans to accelerate the establishment of a hub facility so that sports teams can maintain their performance in a comfortable environment and continuously recruit and nurture outstanding athletes.

They also plan to take the lead in revitalizing the local economy by building optimal sports environment infrastructure and conducting aggressive sports marketing activities.

By directly operating the International Archery Field Training Center, the county expects it to serve as a foundation for many residents to use facilities such as archery sports clubs and to produce promising archery talents in South Korea.

Governor Shim Min said, “Through this benchmarking, the Jeollabuk-do International Archery Field Training Center will become a mecca for archery training where local representative athletes can showcase their excellent skills,” adding, “I hope the attraction of the training center will greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
