Gimcheon 'Orion Technology' Selected as 'Top Local Company' This Year

On the 18th, Kimcheon City announced, “On the 14th, during the Kimcheon City Job Fair and Small and Medium Enterprise Excellent Products Fair, a plaque awarding ceremony was held with the attendance of about 40 people including Kim Chung-seop, Mayor of Kimcheon City, Lee Myung-gi, Chairman of Kimcheon City Council, Ahn Yong-woo, Chairman of Kimcheon Chamber of Commerce, and Choi Cheon-hyung, CEO of Orion Technology Co., Ltd.”

Orion Technology Co., Ltd., selected as this year’s Local Top Company, is a manufacturer of ship engine boards and CCTV LCD monitors located in the Apo Industrial Complex in Kimcheon. The company has led the commercialization of eco-friendly electronic control engines in response to demands for reducing exhaust gas and the localization of new controllers for ship engines to cope with the global semiconductor supply shortage.

In addition to excellent quality management, the company holds 10 patents including engine monitoring systems and more than 40 overseas certification standards. Recognized for its quality, it supplies to domestic ship engine manufacturers such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, HSD Engine, and STX Engine, and is known as the market leader in this field.

It was also selected as Kimcheon City’s Company of the Month in 2021 and as a Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2022.
